Appalling tough-guy actioner, based on a novel called Gun Down by Brian (Death Wish) Garfield, in which Coburn and a gang of cons escape and plan revenge on sheriff Heston, whose daughter (Hershey) they kidnap and threaten to rape. The occasional elegiac tone lamenting the passing of the West seems entirely out of place. Only Michael Parks, still aping James Dean at nearly 40, provides some welcome distraction.Author: GA
