The Last Journey (1935)
Director: Bernard Vorhaus
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The runaway train came down the track, and the passengers on board... Vorhaus' nippiest movie demonstrates many prime cinematic virtues from an era when British film was largely theatrical. His largest cast of actors have their roles characterised with incredible economic precision. The split-second editing is superb. And as Wenders was later to discover, the emotion comes from the motion. As usual, however, it is the loco, in this case a Great Western steamer, that steals the show. CPea.Author: CPea
