Late Night Talks with Mother (2001)
Director: Jan Nemec
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
In his experimental, largely autobiographical digital diary-cum-essay, veteran director/musician Nemec rakes over memories and ideas as he wanders around Prague trying to explain himself to his dead mother. There is some interesting stuff here, including doctored footage Nemec shot during the Russian invasion, but his fish-eye lens-style images (he shot with a specially made camera), the squiggly music (his too), and the overall solemnity soon become irritating.Author: GA
