Laughter in Paradise (1951)
Director: Mario Zampi
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
After kicking the bucket Griffith has the last laugh on his grasping relatives, each of whom stands to inherit £150,000 if, and only if, they perform the unlikely tasks designated by the deceased. Mild-mannered Sim, for instance, mercilessly hen-pecked by the priceless Grenfell, has to get himself thrown in jail. This is one of the brighter moments in a movie that's saddled with too much plot and then has to grind a way through it. Fitfully felicitous though, with a glimpse of young Audrey Hepburn.Author: TJ
