Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

As long as the same director's Touch of Zen, but with only a quarter of the substance, this classical ghost story wanders interminably until it reaches its hugely predictable conclusion. Along the way there are some ropey performances, some ropier effects, and a lot of fabulous scenery. There are also moments of genuine delicacy and beauty, but few will have the perseverance to wade through all the self-conscious artfulness to get to them.
