A girl's best friend is her lion in this cross-eyed savannah drama. Her game warden stepfather (Howard) has to swallow his pride when his wife (Capucine) invites her ex-husband (Holden) to come over from America to 'civilise' this wild child (Franklin). A depressing, patronising conclusion sees the original family returning to domesticity and the States. Ironically, in real life Holden liked Kenya so much that he decided to live there.Author: TCh
