Little Malcolm and His Struggle Against the Eunuchs (1974)
Director: Stuart Cooper
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
This film would probably be produced by C4 or Handmade now. Back then it was financed by the Beatles' crumbling Apple empire, with George Harrison as fledgling executive producer. It won an award in Berlin, died in the West End, and vanished. In fact, David Halliwell's stage satire on Fascism, in the form of an art student's revolt against authority, translated fairly well to the screen, and the themes of paranoia and impotence are handled with enough kick for it to have deserved more success. There are particularly strong performances from the men (admittedly rather old for students), but it is Ayres as the only woman who steals the show.Author: CPe
