Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

A disastrous remake of James Hilton's novel that replaces the old-fashioned hokum and wish-fulfilment of the Capra version with a melodramatic confrontation of the 'real' (the plane and its passengers are refugees from an unnamed Asian war) with the worst of recent cultural mythology (Shangri-La is little more than Disneyland with beads, and is overseen by a very Maharishi-like Charles Boyer).
