Love and Action in Chicago (1999)
Director: Dwayne Johnson-Cochran
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The pitch here would be a black Grosse Pointe Blank. Vance is 'an eliminator', a hit-man who wipes out bad guys for the government. He wants out - but he has nothing in his life except his work. Turner is 'Middle Man', his controller, who doesn't want him to quit, and who fixes him up on a blind date with King. The tone is jokey, but it's supposed to work as a thriller, which it doesn't. Writer/director Johnson-Cochran fails to impress in either capacity; you wonder what attracted the quality cast to this uninspired material.Author: TCh
