Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Spin-off from a TV comedy series, but better than average because someone has bothered to think of it as a film, not just prolonged television. The boy and girl of the title, surrounded by the myth of the permissive society, find the reality of living at home with the parents in middle-class Manchester somewhat different. The film gains from being set in specific locations, so the characters acquire a degree of reality that the lot in Coronation Street will never have. It also creates the right degree of gaucheness in the protagonists without ever becoming condescending. Not recommended, really, just put together and acted with a surprising degree of conscientiousness.
