Under Milk Wood (1971)
Director: Andrew Sinclair
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
An appallingly pedestrian adaptation of Dylan Thomas' radio play, reverently rendered as a cultural exercise, simply waiting for the script to drop a particularly fulsome poetic image and then illustrating it with stultifying literalness. Burton wanders zomboidally through the night as the Narrator (sonorous but peculiarly toneless), while O'Toole hams it up no end as Captain Cat (energetic but peculiarly un-Welsh).Author: TM
