Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

John Sayles scripted (and appears in) this true-life telemovie about Vietnam vet Ritter (atoning for the Problem Child) trying to prove that his chronic ill health can be directly traced to the ill effects of the US military's use of the defoliant Agent Orange. Woodard's tremendous as the counsellor who takes on her superiors to battle it out for him. Impassioned and involving, it's far, far superior to the usual run of small-screen fare from the US networks, a credit to all concerned - including experienced director Johnson, who made his name on series like The Twilight Zone some two decades earlier.
