Movie review

From Time Out London

Another impressive doc, recently aired on ITV, by the ever-investigative Pilger, this time on the shameful treatment of the Chagos Islanders, expelled from their British protectorate Indian Ocean home to make way for the massive US base from which Iraq was bombed during the recent invasion. There's a backstory to this that can be traced all the way to the regularly disgraceful post-war filing cabinets of the Foreign Office; and the scandal continues even now, with the islanders hindered as recently as July 2004, by Blair-backed Queen’s decree, from returning to their homes.
