Joining the roster of great concert films like Monterey Pop and Wattstax, Fade to Black surges with adrenaline, a heady rush of beats and bravado. Onstage, Jay-Z is all genial swagger, a Marcy Projects maestro who moves the crowd while maintaining just the right amount of hauteur—as do his guests, including the bootylicious Beyoncé, backed by a throng of luscious lady dancers. Shimmying in her sequins as Jay-Z breaks into a midsong rap, Miss Knowles can't hide her hots for Hova. By film's end, neither can we.Author: MA
