November (2005)
Director: Greg Harrison
Movie review
From Time Out New York
Another in a long line of tricky psychological mind-fuck flicks in which all is not as it seems, November looks terrific—in a murky, grayish-green kind of way—but amounts to nothing much. Los Angeles photography teacher Sophie (Cox) is racked by survivor's guilt after her boyfriend is murdered in a convenience store. But wait: Benjamin Brand's script rehashes the initial events two more times, shuffling the elements, piling on the creepy details and telegraphing the "surprise" ending. As a no-nonsense cop remarks of Sophie's chic out-of-focus photos, it's all too arty for its own good.Author: MM
