Bab'Aziz: The Prince Who Contemplated His Soul (2005)

Movie review
From Time Out New York
A blind man (Shahinkhou) and his young granddaughter (Hamid) wander the desert in search of a gathering of dervishes in this lyrical film shot mostly in the sands of Tunisia. On their way, they meet a number of fellow travelers with stories to tell, and the old man spins a tale of his own about a young prince who became transfixed by his own reflection. The movie never gains much narrative momentum and the religious elements remain a bit obscure to the uninitiated, but the fine Sufi music and skillfully crafted images make for pleasant-enough viewing.Author: Joshua Land

A beautiful movie tale about Sufis in he desert.
Sufis are the mystical element of Islam and best known for their whirling dervishes.
They are gentle dancers celebrating their devotion to God.
There may not be much 'narrative development' as the TO reviews says but here we are not looking for that but instead looking for the God in oneself in the desert.
Gorgeous and wise. - Report as inappropriate
