From Time Out New York

Drenched in the kind of quotidian misery normally reserved for Ken Loach films, Eden is a portrait of a marriage gone awry. Billy (Kelly), stuck in a bungalow in a dreary part of Ireland with his wife and kids, dreams of a paradise where his dick gets hard as a rock: In his postlapsarian world, lager keeps it from functioning correctly. He pursues bright young thing Imelda (Greene) in the hopes that she’ll solve his problem; the appropriately named Breda (Walsh) tries to win him back. It’s a tired conceit, but Kelly does a fine turn as an emotionally stunted lad, while Walsh dazzles, expertly conveying humiliation and resolve.
