Movie review

From Time Out New York

Here’s a head-scratcher: How do you make unsexy topics like trade deficits (zzzz…) easily accessible yet not dumbed down? Don’t look to filmmaker Patrick Creadon for an answer, as his attempt to explain the nation’s fiscal crises in an entertaining and enlightening way ends up in the red. The usual documentary bells and whistles enliven the proceedings—ominously scored presidential montages, animated timelines, graphs and charts aplenty—but when the most charismatic figure you’ve got is Concord Coalition director Robert Bixby, you’d better plan on
handing out large, caffeinated beverages at the door.
