Singh is Kinng (2008)
Director: Anees Bazmee
Movie review
From Time Out London
Snoop Dogg’s Bollywood debut is a mindless massala flick meant solely for fans of utter bolly-poppycock. Set in inexplicable locations like Australia, Egypt and the Punjab, it follows the fortunes of Indian Sikh lad Happy (Kumar) who inadvertently becomes the king of the Australian mafia. In the process, Happy manages to convert the killers to lovers as ‘only love can conquer hatred’, find a mother substitute (Kher) and marry the lip-glossed obsessed Sonia (Kaif). Shah’s inane script assaults us with its loud crass jokes, stereotypical portrayals and sentimental subplot. My white Indo-phile friend left the screening halfway in disbelief; the rest of the largely British Asian Punjabi audience at the sold out West End screening loved every minute of it.Author: Anil Sinanan

I think Timeout should really get someone else to review bollywood films... Anil Sinanan is too biased and he just doesn't like bollywood films i don't see how u someone like that can give an appropriate review!
Singh is Kinng is an entertainer.. it's not supposed to be a logical film! u just go into the theatre eat ur popkorn lsit back and laugh at the jokes and enjoy! That's it... u don't think about how he reached egypt or where he got the money from coz the film is just meant to entertain it's a comedy not a thriller or a suspense drama that needs to tie it's loose ends. It's a great film totally worth watching and it's sucess speaks for it self! 9 weeks and still running. - Report as inappropriate

- Posted on Aug 15 2008 18:23 I enjoyed the film to the extent that the performances were good. But in terms of the storyline it was bizzare. If this is a true account of the 'singhs' then if i was a sikh i wouldn't be too proud!
