Movie review

From Time Out London

The latest from the writer-director pair of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer – responsible for such movies as ‘Epic Movie’ and ‘Meet the Spartans’ – is  a cynical and limp attempt to cash in on their own parody bandwagon. Here, the shameless duo use a ‘Cloverfield’-type scenario as an excuse to chuck in yet more of their favourite movie moments and characters, irrespective of any connection to the disaster movie genre.

The result is a series of extraneous, deplorably unfunny scenes and sketches stitched together in completely haphazard fashion. One minute we’re aghast at an appalling Amy Winehouse lookalike with sabre teeth and bedraggled beehive, the next pondering the relevance of a scene with the cattle-gun killer from ‘No Country for Old Men’. In short, this wholly contemptuous farrago stinks to high heaven.

Posted on Oct 16 2009 15:28 Good God. The directors must have sat in a room for about 5 minutes and came up with that script.
If you enjoyed that film you must have a well below average IQ and probably do get good jokes and prefer to have jokes, I use the term "joke" loosely here, feed to them like a baby with the film directors saying "Laught at this, Oh isn't this funny"
This film will be lost in a few years with all the other bad films. What a waste of money.... and the cast.... Oh dear can they act?

Posted on Oct 26 2008 18:04 This is a love or hate it film, but most of us all think it sucks! the only funny thing in this film is how Hannah Montana continues to try and sell her merchandise whilst being trapped under a meteroid, but other than that that's it. I really don't recommend watching this. If you want to see a film that parodies other films, watch the Scary Movie sequels!

Posted on Oct 26 2008 16:29 I'm not an old grump, I'm 14 ... it was just dumb. For young kids. Or maybe older kids with a dumb sense of humour. It's the worst film made since Sophie's Choice - and that was the biggest load of poop I've ever seen in my life. Other than this. Rubbish.
