Igor (2008)
Director: Anthony Leondis
Movie review
From Time Out London
‘I’d rather be a good nobody than an evil somebody’ is the mantra for this undistinguished animated Frankenstein comedy spin-off. Igor is one of many identical-looking hunchbacks who aid the kingdom of Malaria’s evil scientists with their wicked inventions. Igor (voiced by John Cusack) has a face like Peter Lorre and a demeanour far removed from his master, Dr Glickenstein (John Cleese). He’s also more intelligent than his fellow hunchbacks. So, when Glickenstein accidentally expires, Igor sets out to prove his worth by inventing the most monstrous of all monsters in Eva. However, Eva turns out to be more caring and thoughtful than destructive, and eventually persuades Igor that more comes out of being good than being bad. The animation here is vaguely Tim Burton-esque with a nod to Ralph Steadman in some of the outlandish characters, especially that of Eddie Izzard’s key villain, Dr Schadenfreude. But there’s not much form to the plot which develops in fits and starts. Nevertheless, those kids that weren’t confused appeared to enjoy it, so there you go.

- Posted on Oct 10 2008 16:44 i think this film was fab, really funny and witty! lighten up on the reviews all of them are really cynical. i agree with the writer of the last comment about actually watching the films and writing about how good they are rather then saying all the abd stuff! i think it's a great film for little kids and even us teens too!
