Movie review

From Time Out New York

In a movie that all but screams Mark Foley’s name (it’s about a congressman sleazing over a teenage boy), it’s odd to hear politicos wittering about a war in the fictional nation state of Tie Ear (Tiáre? Tyir?). For reasons that are unclear, Choose Connor seems to both court relevance and avoid it, lapsing into allegory at inopportune moments. Lawrence Connor (Weber) is a baby-holding Machiavellian who exploits his youth spokesperson to further his political ambitions. Owen (Linz) is his idealistic boy wonder, and the focus of a gazillion long dolly shots in scenes that would’ve benefited from a little sound-bite treatment instead.
