From Time Out New York

Down-on-his-luck Frank Diaz (Leguizamo) can’t make the rent, and he and his family face the prospect of spending Christmas hungry and in a New York homeless shelter. As he desperately tries to find work and a decent place for his brood to live, Frank’s checkered past returns to haunt him. The story of family coming together amid holiday hardship is as old as baby Jesus’ parents holing up in that mangy manger, but this film needs more than God’s Nikes to resonate with an already economically downtrodden filmgoing populace.
