Lilli the Witch (2009)
Director: Stefan Ruzowitzky
Movie review
From Time Out Online
A slapstick tale of fantasy and heroism in which a little girl, aided by a dragon that can’t fly, must retrieve a magic book of spells and save the world from an evil wizard. Ruzowitzky’s film doesn’t stray far from the usual childhood fantasy of good v evil, and you ought to be able to see the ending before it arrives, but the occasional joke for the adults – for instance ‘the Oracle’ is a bowl of fortune cookies – and a good performance on the part of Lilli makes it a jolly family romp. Sadly, it is let down by its evidently low budget, though I doubt the kids will mind.Author: Seb Brixey-Williams
