For this animated, rites-of-passage time-passer, the directors have sifted elements of the orthodox teen schoolyard yarn into a rambling folly about a pair of young wolves. Kate, the alpha female of the pack, is ready to find a mate but custom dictates that an alpha female must pair with an alpha male. So where does that leave Humphrey, a clumsy, happy-go-lucky omega male besotted with Kate’s daredevil antics and dandy hairstyle?To flesh out what could easily be a shorter tale about social mores, rejection and the need to follow your heart, the filmmakers opt for a sideshow of tired quips, weak action sequences and flirtatious fluff. Still, easy-to-please infants will warm to its primary colours and slapstick jollities and won’t be remotely bothered by the dodgy 3D animation and make-do voiceovers – or the fact that the insipidly cute lead characters resemble the occupants of a Polly Pocket playpen.

- Posted on Nov 08 2010 11:34 Excellent fun movie brilliantly done. Great for kids and with enough neatly hidden adult humour too. The characters gel beautifully together and although the story is typical feel good genre it pleases enough to give a release from the chaotic lives most of us live.
