Movie review

From Time Out Online

This Danish feature for kids combines classic fairytale elements with impressive animation. Jonathan takes his little sister Sophie to visit their grandfather who lives on the edge of a great forest. His one rule for the children is don’t stray beyond the back yard, but of course they do, ending up separated and lost among the trees. Sophie befriends the great bear, a huge beast much feared by the forest’s only other inhabitant, a sinister woodsman who rescues Jonathan from an animal trap. The whole adventure is rendered in Pixar-style animation – the humans could be the Incredibles’ Scandinavian cousins, and the bear’s fur looks as fluffy and strokeable as Sulley’s from ‘Monsters Inc.’. And watch out for the cute mini mooses. Adorable.
