The Eresin Crown is unusual as a medium-sized, high-end hotel amid small 'Ottoman' boutique competitors in Sultanahmet: it's on the southern side of the peninsula, a stone's throw from Sultanahmet Mosque.

Decor in the public spaces is pretty standard, of the marble and plate glass variety, but the hotel's unique selling point are the 50 or so ancient artefacts discovered when the hotel was being built. Some rooms are on the small side, but all are comfortable and well appointed, with jacuzzis; there are several suites.

The Terrace Restaurant has amazing views over the city, the Bosphorus and Sea of Marmara. The Eresin is a choice worth considering if you want to be near the sights, but prefer accommodation with international-style features and facilities.
