The Akbayrak brothers obviously have a thing about vintage glass lamps - the interior of their hotel is hung with 2,000 of them. The eccentricities continue: every room is crammed with kilims, candlestands, empty bottles and quirky knick-knacks. Garish pink and green paint schemes heighten the sense of fun.
It all makes sense when you learn that one of the brothers was formerly an antiques dealer, while another spent three years with an Australian circus. The 16 bedrooms are smallish, particularly the singles, but they are comfortable enough and all have fancy marble bathrooms. Breakfast is served in a courtyard as colourful as a gypsy caravan.
