Kannat is a perfect example of a historical lokanta that appears to have changed little since it was founded in 1933. Equally popular at both lunch and dinner, the vast menu of traditional but increasingly hard-to-find Turkish dishes represents excellent value.
Choose from dozens of stuffed, stewed, and spiced vegetables and a mouthwatering array of grilled, baked, and roastmeat dishes, from rich lamb stew to spicy meatballs. There's a separate section dedicated to desserts.
Baked quince with clotted cream and delicate milk puddings with various combinations of dried fruit and nuts are especially memorable.
