This converted distillery, dating from 1875, enjoys a fabulous waterfont setting in Çengelköy, a sleepy fishing village way off the tourist radar. The architect owners have created polished contemporary interiors featuring grey marble, exposed stonework, and picture windows with extraordinary views of mosques and minarets shimmering beyond the Bosphorus bridge.
Many rooms come with mini-hamams, and beds face the waterfront. Kordonbalik restaurant serves superlative seafood - at a price. There are scheduled boat trips across the Bosphorus.
