One of the oldest restaurants in Istanbul, Hacı Abdullah is deservedly famous for traditional Ottoman fare. Three old-school dining rooms are brightened by a few contemporary flourishes. Opt for the pale pink room at the rear, complete with skylight and chandelier.
The restaurant is renowned for its pickles, stored in colourful jars, and bizarrely described in the English menu as 'the symbols of pooped politicians'. An array of pre-cooked dishes is on display in the front room. No alcohol is served.
