Hacı Abdullah review

One of the oldest restaurants in Istanbul, Hacı Abdullah is deservedly famous for traditional Ottoman fare. Three old-school dining rooms are brightened by a few contemporary flourishes. Opt for the pale pink room at the rear, complete with skylight and chandelier. The restaurant is renowned for its pickles, stored in colourful jars , and bizarrely described in the English menu as 'the symbols of pooped politicians'. An array of pre-cooked dishes is on display in the front room. No alcohol is served.
