A more sophisticated alternative to its popular predecessor around the corner on Kumbaracı Sokak. The new premises, on the sixth floor of the Richmond Hotel on Istiklal Caddesi, boast breathtaking views, even by Istanbul standards. Try the extraordinary Forty-Spice Steak, Tike kebab with aubergine caviar, or mahmudiye - chicken curry with honey, almonds, apricot and cinnamon. Stifado, a tough steak and mushroom stew, is less successful. The restaurant stops serving lunch in July and August due to the greenhouse effect of its glass panelling. Reservation recommended.
