A Taste of Teochew Opera

As the name suggest, Teochew opera is what you’ll get in this dramatic performance that combines the crafts of puppetry, the theme of friendship, and traditional musical instruments. Presented by master craftswoman Goh Hui Ling and the Kim Giak Low Choon Opera Troupe, the opera spins two popular legendary Chinese fables. The first is set in the Jin dynasty, focusing on a mother whose son wants to avenge his father’s death while the second is a popular ghost story about an encounter between a guest house customer and a spirit.
