DiverseCity: Ganjam - Odissi

‘Ganjam’ pays ode to the region of Southern Odisha, home to some of the state’s most prolific medieval composers, poets and literary figures. Sutra Foundation’s artistic director Ramli Ibrahim enlists the expertise of Ganjam native, Guru Gajendra Panda, to curate the folk dances and music in this special performance. Expect an interplay of choreography styles: the vigorous stepping of the demon king Hiranyakasipu, musical Sabda Swara Pata of Prahallad Nataka and from folk Daskathia, and more.
