Japanese Film Festival 2012: Rebirth

Based on a novel by Mitsuyo Kakuta, 'Rebirth' won 11 awards at the 35th Japan Academy Prize. Kiwako kidnaps a six-month old baby and for four years, she raises the child as her own before being arrested. The child, Erina, grows up to become involved with a married man and falls pregnant.
