MESYM Crossover Documentary Series #12: Waltz with Bashir

The monthly event held every last Thursday will be screening award-winning animated documentary, 'Waltz with Bashir'.  The documentary follows filmmaker Ari Folman's attempt to decipher the horrors that unfolded one night during the Lebanon War in September 1982 – when over 3,000 Palestinian refugees were massacred by Christian militia members in the heart of Beirut. Although banned in Lebanon, 'Waltz with Bashir' has picked up multiple awards: Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film, IDA Award for Feature Documentary, and a BAFTA for Best Film Not in the English Language. The screening will be followed by a discussion.
