In October 2011, DYMM Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah became the first to assume the throne of Yang Di-Pertuan Agong for a second time, after he previously served the title from 1970 to 1975. It's only with Malaysia's unique system of a rotating constitutional monarchy is it possible for the same ruler to be elected twice.
