Dutch DJ and producer Joris Voorn has travelled the world, and this month, he is making a pit stop here in KL. Having started DJing in 1997, Voorn soon developed a more focused interest in house and techno music. In 2003, his debut EP ‘Lost Memories’ became a hit; he then launched his own label ‘Green’ in 2005.
Known for his deep techno house-style music, Voorn has gone through a transition from playing techno underground to dance music mainstream. 2009 saw a global explosion for Voorn. His ‘Balance 014’ compilation where he managed to mix approximately 100 songs into a double CD was a huge global success. More recently, he has pulled off a mid-tempo remix of Lana Del Rey’s ‘Video Games’, showing off his rendition of modern techno music.
The boundary-pushing Dutchman will be gracing the decks of Vertigo, supported by local DJs Shazan, Alam and Victor G. Don’t miss the chance to catch this tip-top sackful of techno talent. Ian Loh
