It’s no longer exclusive to the Irish; we KLites also celebrate St Patrick’s Day now. Like last year, the street of Changkat Bukit Bintang will morph into a sea of all things green starting on the eve (Mar 16) all the way to the actual day and celebration on Mar 17. The organiser promises that this will be the largest St Patrick’s celebration in Asia.
The theme this year is ‘Celebrate the laughter side of life’, so expect heaps of fun, exciting games and of course, pints of your favourite black brew, Guinness. Additionally, there will be a Comedy Tent on site this Mar 17, featuring local comics Kavin Jay and Jason Leong as well as a set by international 'Last Comic Standing' star Papa CJ. Good eh?
While St Patrick’s Day is traditionally dedicated to the Patron Saint of Ireland, celebrations in KL are purely for the joy of it. Still, you are expected to wear green and sport the shamrock – don’t say we didn’t warn you. Leading up to the event will also be 13 parties across town. View the full list here. Ian Loh
