Things got even better when the lineup of Wicked Festival was announced. The good news is this: Former Swedish House Mafia member Axwell and EDM wonderboy Zedd (pictured) will both be headlining the party.
Zedd, born Anton Zaslavski, will be making his debut in Malaysia. The ‘Clarity’ producer is a perfect example of how EDM has influenced dance and pop music today. His production credits are impressive: He produced ‘Beauty and a Beat’ for Justin Bieber, and is the main producer for Lady Gaga’s latest album, ‘ARTPOP’. But Zedd’s original tracks are what made him famous – from ‘Spectrum’ to the more recent ‘Stay the Night’ featuring Paramore’s Hayley Williams. (Plus, ‘Clarity’ has been covered on ‘Glee’.)
Global dance icon Axwell hardly needs any introduction. His catchy deep-house mixes will entice all the fans at this all-nighter. Dutchman, No_ID and local DJs Nikki, B.A.T.E., Ramsey Westwood, Hightech and Captain Ed complete the line up. Also, a little bird told us that up and coming R&B singer Ariana Grande will make a special appearance. Either way, it’s going to be a wicked night. Ian Loh
