The knockout tournament will see 16 doubles teams and 32 singles players competing for a prize purse of US$235,000 and valuable world ranking points. World no 10 Caroline Wozniacki, defending champion Hsieh Su-Wei, former world no 5 Daniela Hantuchová and Japan's top player Ayumi Morita are confirmed to appear this year. Other names in the tournament include Serbia's Bojana Jovanovski, Thai veteran Tamarine Tanasugarn and Australian rising star Ashleigh Barty.
