Time Out says

This comedy play, written by Joanna Bessey and Na’a Murad, explores the love journey of Aisha, a Malaysian city girl who is constantly pulled between her traditional values and the modernising world around her. The theme at play is the classic clash between Eastern and Western values and their differing ideologies and cultures. The contrasting attitudes of both societies on topics such as gender roles, religion, race and familial customs take centre stage as Aisha falls in love with a foreigner and has to deal with their growing love amid familial pressures, clashes of customs and their own obvious differences. The complexity of their ‘Nation of Two’ is considered amid the chaos of their own social surroundings.

‘Love Journey – A Nation of Two’ promises to provide a unique and authentic experience that will resonate with audiences from all walks of life. With prominent and experienced actors in the line-up such as Dato’ Rahim Razali, Fatimah Abu Bakar, Na’a Murad and Sharifah Sofia, as well as an intimate stage setting designed by award-winning set designer Paul Loosley, the play will be a pleasing and laugh-worthy sojourn through the unfolding of a budding romance between two people from opposite ends of the world.
