One of the earliest locals' casinos is evidently now the best: the Las Vegas Review-Journal said so in its 2006 'Best of Las Vegas' poll, crediting the property's classier look after a major remodel, the renovation of the 200 rooms, a new race and sports book, and the addition of the Chrome nightclub and a cineplex. Santa Fe staples include a 488-seat bingo room and a wide variety of slots, and a state-of-the-art bowling centre. Locals enjoy great Mexican fare at Cabo, where flair bartenders blend equally entertaining margaritas; other options include the endlessly popular Feast Buffet and unexpectedly impressive Charcoal Room for steak and seafood. Santa Fe also operates a Kids Quest childcare and entertainment centre.
The smallish casino has low-limit table games, though with no competition nearby, the rules are not altogether favourable. The video poker is typical for Station: there are a few 99% machines, but the rest lower. There is also a 450-seat bingo room, the aforementioned new sports book and a variety of slots.
