Built as an apartment complex and later transformed into an all-suites hotel (where local teenagers booked suites on prom night, until the resort wised up and began requiring guests to be 21), the gaming-free, Mediterranean-style Alexis is a surprisingly sedate little operation. The two-storey buildings, nestled along winding pathways, house 500 well-appointed suites, ranging in size from 450sq ft to 1,275sq ft (42sq m to 120sq m) and offering a host of unexpected accoutrements (gas fireplaces, large bathrooms and, in some cases, upstairs lofts). But the main selling point? It's right by the Hard Rock.
