This boutique hotel, housed rather unexpectedly in a former Travelodge in the shadow of I-15, shares a trait with most Strip resorts: it has a theme. The old-world European decor is inspired by art and artists; paintings, a mix of pieces by local artists and reproductions of iconic works by the likes of Rembrandt and Van Gogh, cover virtually every inch of wall space in the public areas, and even decorate the ceilings. The theme continues in the Artisan Lounge, a late-night hotspot frequented by local hipsters, and in the hotel's dining room. The 64 individually decorated guestrooms and suites are priced a little highly for their location, but they're likeable enough and a good option if you fancy steering clear of the Strip. A spa is scheduled to open in 2007.
