Las Vegas's oldest secondary school was nearly razed in the early 1990s, but instead found new life as a magnet school for performing arts and international studies. The LVA's new Lowden Theater for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art facility that hosts technically impressive shows in a variety of genres: the 2007 season included productions of Miss Saigon and The Grapes of Wrath. These kids are far better than they should be.
