Performances and backstage interviews from the gig
The university's annual festival features screenings from established directors alongside works by students on the film studies programme. Thursday sees Alfonso CuarÛn participate in a roundtable discussion following a screening of his 2005 film, 'Children of Men'. Friday is dedicated to Cypriot films, with screenings of short films, video art, documentary and two feature films: 'Under the Stars' (Christos Georgiou, 2002), and 'Kalabush' (Adonis Florides, 2002). Many of the works deal with issues of divided communities and memories, and the festival ends with a discussion on 'Cinema and Shattered Space' (Fri 5pm). See www.festivalofmovingimage.com for programme details.
