A real German Christmas market along Queen's Walk (from the Southbank Centre to the London Eye) with decorated wooden chalets selling a wide range of hand-crafted gifts and German delicacies such as glühwein (mulled wine), bratwurst and Kölsch (famous Cologne beer). In the centre of the market there's a carousel and tucked away among the chalets lies Santa's Secret Village (£10-£15 plus booking fee, to include stories, gift and photograph for one child with an adult, extra adults £6 each; booking essential, at santas-secret-village.co.uk).
Follow Southbank Centre to receive updates on new events happening here.

we have one of these so called german markets in Kingston. A complete rip off and a mockery of the real thing. Surely London can do better with an authentic british market which reflects the diversity of this wonderful city and not a cheap imitation which is only about tat and expensive rubbish. Your better off going to somewhere like Greenwich Market which is fab at Xmas.
Went last year and was hugely dissapointed, is this year any better?
Organisers should go to Germany first to find out what a christmas market really is, the London version is extremely tame.
Not great - again! Don't know why I went again after last year. Mulled wine was rubbish and the gifts are all over-priced. Surely we can do better than this, London?!?
I think no effort at all was put into this so called "cologne xmas market"! Really? I suggest the organisers should go to Germany first to get the idea right...
Absolutely no waste your time visiting
Santas Secret Village... Oh lordy. This really isnt worth the visit. Birminghams German market is VERY impressive. This is just a very poor selection of tatty stalls. I actually left Borough market on Friday to come here on the rec of this site. Doh! :)
