This Sunday will see the celebrations to welcome in the Year of the Tiger take place in Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Chinatown and Shaftesbury Avenue. Festivities begin at 12noon with an official opening ceremony in Trafalgar Square, followed by a variety of performances featuring music, dance, Chinese dragons, lions, acrobatics and firecrackers. Chinatown will be be filled with cultural and food stalls and lion dance displays, and the 'Hong Kong in London' stage on Shaftesbury Avenue hosts entertainment from local Chinese artists. The closing fireworks display takes place in Leicester Square. Avoid using Leicester Square tube if you can; it's likely to become very congested.
